Samantha "Sam" Petersen (Head Coach)

Dabbling in many different sports but focusing on volleyball, Sam has been involved in athletics since her youth. When she joined her first CrossFit gym in 2008, she was a young mother with 70 pounds of baby weight to lose. She never imagined the impressive CrossFit career ahead of her.

After her first local competition in 2010, she was hooked. A Six-time Northwest Regional qualifier, Sam has advanced twice to the final stage of the CrossFit Games in Carson, CA finishing 39th and 36th in the world in 2011 and 2012 respectively.  With eleven different certifications to her name, her passion for CrossFit extends beyond competition and into training others. She loves not only the sport but also the sense of community and family that CrossFit provides. Her training philosophy is simple: "It takes hard work if you want to be healthy. Fitness doesn't come in a bottle."
