When did you start Crossfit?

I've been doing CF for about 1 1/2 years now. I caved to the pressure from some of our couple friends that raved about the workouts and enjoyed the results they were seeing.

What's your favorite part about CrossFit?

Definitely the accountability that you have to put on yourself. If you put in the time and effort, you will see the results you want. I work 10+ hour days and still enjoy coming in for an evening workout and to see friendly, familiar faces. The coaches are encouraging and the community makes me feel like I'm on a competitive team again. Also, working out with Jesse 2.0, my husband, is a great way for us to spend time together with both of our busy schedules.

Favorite workout and/or movement/exercise/lift?

Power cleans, Hand stand push-ups, RUNNING! After college I tried long-distance running, but sprinting has always been my strong point.

How has CrossFit helped/affected your life outside the gym? 

CF has helped me get to know people in the community and build relationships to further my understanding of how far you can push the human body. Not only that, but it has made me more aware of how fueling the body, nutritionally, can solely affect your performance. Sometimes I wish my highschool/college self was more aware of these things!

What is your proudest CF related accomplishment?

I have many, but off the top of my head I would say competing in the Festivus Games. Man, was that hard!! I remember my husband saying how he had never seen me so exhausted. It was nice to push myself and I look forward to doing them again in October.

What are your future CF related goals?

Continuing upper body strength training and finally get that muscle up! :)

If you were to say something to someone new joining what advise would you give?

Just walking in the door is the first step. I will admit that I was nervous for a few months before I even signed up. After the first 101 class, I was hooked!
